The Reformed church building

"GOD! You have been my refuge, a strong tower." (Psalm 61:3)

Today's church building has got its form in 1800, when the ancient, 15th century building has been enlarged.

Here are some of the important dates of the history of the church building:

  • 1778 - burying near the church has been given up
  • 1779 - the already existing belltower was repaired
  • 1790 - a 15 m high belltower has been attached to the church building (its total height: 35 m)
  • 1800 - the ancient church has been enlarged with today's western side
  • 1808 - a church-clock has been mounted; out of order since the larger bell cracked
  • 1981 - the latest inner and outer renovation
  • 1994 - the building of the fomer church-school has been transformed into congregational house
  • 1998-99 - the roof and ceiling of the church has been restored
  • 2003-04 - the congregation has planned to restore its monument organ and the two choirs of wood
